Tommaso Ciampa Leaves WWE, Joins AEW
Tommaso Ciampa made a shocking debut last night for AEW Dynamite when he confronted Mark Briscoe for a match this Saturday on AEW Collision for the AEW TNT Championship.
But, following his AEW Debut, Tommaso was interviewed by Rick Ucchino of Sports Illustrated where he revealed that he was actually leaning towards leaving WWE for quite some time now.
It’s something I’ve been leaning towards for quite some time, I don’t know that I can say there’s one sole factor that led to it or caused it. I think it’s one of those things when your contract is coming to an end, you naturally have discussions.”
On January 21, Ciampa confirmed that his WWE contract was set to expire and that he would be leaving the company. Just one week later, he arrived in All Elite Wrestling. Ciampa also revealed in the interview that AEW is where he wants to be. You can read about that here.
