Tommaso Ciampa is All Elite, and would’ve been All Extreme.
Tommaso Ciampa Debuts In AEW
Last night on AEW Dynamite, Tommaso Ciampa made a surprise debut on the show when he confronted Mark Briscoe, who issued an open challenge for his TNT Championship on AEW Collision. Shortly after that segment, it was made official that Tommaso Ciampa signed with the company and is “All Elite”.
Now, Ciampa did his first interview post-debut with Rick Ucchino of Sports Illustrated where he stated that if it was the 90’s, he’d be in ECW, and AEW right now is where he wants to be.
“If I wrestled in the 90s, I’d wanna be a part of ECW… Early 2000s, you wanna be a part of Ring of Honor. I was lucky I got to do that a little bit. 2010s, I think for me at least, I wanted to be part of NXT Black and Gold. When I looked at the landscape of professional wrestling in the 2020s… the answer was AEW, man. That’s what I want to be a part of.”
Ciampa will have his first match for All Elite Wrestling this Saturday at AEW Collision against Mark Briscoe for the AEW TNT Championship. Ciampa spoke about leaving WWE, which you can read here.
