Sean O’Malley On UFC 324: I Think This’ll Mostly Be A Stand Up Fight
Sean O’Malley is ready.
O’Malley vs. Song
UFC 324 is coming up Saturday night and there’s a new co-main event. Originally, Kayla Harrison and Amanda Nunes were set to battle in the co-headliner, but following a neck injury for Kayla, that fight is off. Now, Sean O’Malley vs. Song Yadong has been bumped up to the co-main event, and it’s sure to be fireworks.
Sean O’Malley recently sat down with Shakiel Mahjouri to talk about the upcoming weekend. Sean was asked about what he likes about the Song matchup and of course, the stand-up fight is favorable.
”He’s primarily a striker. He has been doing a lot of Judo, a lot of wrestling. He’s definitely going to mix it up and try to do that in this fight, but for the most part he’s a striker. And I like this matchup, he’s going to come out and try to mix it up a bit, but, I think this’ll be mostly a stand up fight.”
In his last few, with the exception of Petr Yan, Sean has fought grapplers, including Aljamain Sterling and Merab Dvalishvili, twice. Now, O’Malley can stay in his wheelhouse if the fight with Song Yadong stays on the feet. You can see the full interview below.
