On SmackDown, there was four qualifying matches to determine who would compete in a fatal four way match at Saturday Night’s Main Event to become number one contender for the Undisputed WWE Championship. The matches were Randy Orton vs The Miz, Trick Williams vs Matt Cardona, Damian Priest vs Solo Sikoa, and Sami Zayn vs Ilja Dragunov. Randy Orton defeated The Miz, Trick Williams defeated Matt Cardona, Damian Priest defeated Solo Sikoa, and Sami Zayn defeated Ilja Dragunov.
Randy Orton vs Trick Williams vs Damian Priest vs Sami Zayn was made official for Saturday Night’s Main Event. The winner of that match will challenge Drew McIntyre at the Royal Rumble for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
