Kayla Harrison is on the road to recovery.
UFC 324 Pull-Out
Yesterday, news spread that Kayla Harrison had suffered a neck injury that required surgery, thus having to pull out of the January 24 UFC 324 co-main event against Amanda Nunes. UFC eventually confirmed the news later in the day and the fight has been cancelled for that date.
Kayla, who’s the current UFC Bantamweight Champion, was silent yesterday, but has released a video this morning while in a hospital bed. The emotional Harrison apologized to the fans and her opponent, before sending thanks to her family, team and fans. You can see her message below, as she sports a neck brace.
Kayla noted that the fight will be postponed, which is exactly what UFC noted yesterday. With that, it seems there will be no replacement opponent for Amanda Nunes, and she will wait until a later date. You can see the full updated UFC 324 card below.
