Dana White Receives Heavy Backlash After Lack Of Enthusiasm For Upcoming Fights
Dana White seems tired and grumpy.
Dana White’s Loss Of Motivation
UFC is heading into the new year with their first card on January 24, UFC 324. Following that, UFC 325 is just one week after, with a big back-to-back pay-per-view showcase, followed by many more fight nights and big events to come. But, while everyone is excited, it seems like the boss man, is not.
Fans have long been asking why Dana White is seemingly losing motivation for his brand, and that could be a number of numerous things that we can’t even begin to fathom. But recently, it doesn’t even seem like he’s trying. UFC fans really took notice this week when UFC announced that Dana White would be going live on instagram with an announcement, to which he did, several hours later, and quickly announced that in March at UFC Seattle, Israel Adesanaya vs. Joe Pyfer will headline the card, while Alexa Grasso and Maycee Barber will be in the co-main event. The live lasted all but two minutes and saw Dana White unenthusiastically reading off of a piece of paper, with no hype behind what he was saying. Ariel Helwani then blasted Dana on his show for the lack of hype surrounding Israel Adesanaya, former champion and bonafide Hall Of Famer’s return.

Israel even posted his own hype video, seemingly produced by his team, and it even hyped up Joe Pyfer as well. Yet, no mention from the UFC and all they did was put up a graphic.
But, it doesn’t end there. Today, Dana White did an interview with Complex where he was asked about fans questioning the rematch between Alexander Volkanovski vs. Diego Lopes, and instead of giving reasons as to why it was book, he simply tells fans that if they don’t like it, don’t watch it. Interesting business decision heading into the new Paramount+ deal.

It begs the question as to why UFC seems to be too lazy to promote their big fights the way they should be, and if Dana White has fatigue from the company altogether. Maybe they can take a page out of their TKO partner, WWE’s book, and start to bring back great hype videos and big promotional material to boost their stars. We can only hope.
