Mike Santana To Frankie Kazarian On 1/8 TNA iMPACT: “We Were At A Place That Tried To Drain The Passion Out Of What We Love The Most”
On the 1/8 broadcast of TNA iMPACT!, Frankie Kazarian and Mike Santana took part in a contract signing ahead of their TNA World Title match this Thursday on the 1/15 debut on AMC Network.
During the signing, both competitors – TNA World Champion Frankie Kazarian and challenger Mike Santana – were given the opportunity to speak.
Santana had some strong words for Frankie, seemingly taking a shot at their former employer, All Elite Wrestling (AEW).
“At one point in time we were both at the same place, miserable as all hell. We were at a place that tried to drain the passion out of what we love the most. And what did we do? We held each other up, we left that place, we bet on ourselves. And today, we’re sitting across from each other, about to go toe-to-toe for the grandest prize in pro wrestling on the biggest show in TNA history.”
Frankie Kazarian signed with TNA (IMPACT Wrestling) in January of 2023 after asking and being granted his release from AEW. Kazarian then re-signed with TNA in January of 2025. Frankie had been a big part of the early years of TNA.
Mike Santana returned to TNA and signed the company in April of 2024 after his contract expired, having been there with former partner Ortiz as part of LAX, and also previously working TNA as part of LAX with Ortiz, Konnan, and Eddie Kingston.
Mike Santana defeated Trick Williams for the TNA World Title at the Bound For Glory PPV back in October of 2025. About three weeks later, Mike Santana was defending the title when he was attacked by NXT stars, and Frankie came down and cashed in his Call Your Shot trophy and beat Santana for the World Title belt. This was Both men’s first World Title reign with TNA.
