Kayla Harrison On Potential Ronda Rousey Return: I Suggest That She Does Not Come Back

Kayla Harrison and Ronda Rousey have always been linked together, due to them both being Judo Players that turned into MMA fighters. The two have never competed against each other in MMA, but, they did have a Judo match in 2005, where Ronda did win. But, Ronda Rousey is now retired from the sport and has that behind her. Or does she?

Ronda Rousey has recently been sharing training footage and rumors swirled about her potentially making a return to fighting, with UFC, or to Boxing with a potential matchup with Katie Taylor on the table. Kayla Harrison was recently asked about this via TNT Sport, and she didn’t think it was a good idea.

”I mean, I just think it’s, I think, I suggest she does not come back, hahaha.” When asked about the potential boxing fight with Katie, Kayla continued; “I also suggest that she doesn’t do that. If I’m in her inner circle, I am telling her not to do that.” When asked again about a fight with Ronda, Kayla said it would be great, for the fans.

”Yeah, it’d be great for the fans. It’d be great, I mean, like I said earlier, it’s free money. So I’d take it.” When asked if the two had a relationship, Kayla revealed that there isn’t one. “I mean, I have no ill will against Ronda, but we’re not, I mean, we haven’t talked in years and years and years, and, I think the only thing that we have in common is that we’re blonde and do Judo.”

Ronda Rousey hasn’t completed in MMA since her 2026 loss against Amanda Nunes, now almost 10 years ago. Ronda wasn’t also not known for her boxing. Kayla battles Nunes on January 24 at UFC 324.
