GUNTHER Debuted In WWE 7 Years Ago
On this day, 7 years ago, the world witnessed the debut of WALTER in WWE. One of the most dominant wrestler in the history of Europe, appearing after the main event of the first ever NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool that saw Pete Dunne defend his then WWE United Kingdom Championship against Joe Coffey in a match that lasted over 30+ minutes.
As the Bruiserweight celebrated that he retained his championship via submission, a familiar melody started playing, as the silhouette of WALTER (Later renamed GUNTHER in NXT 2.0) appeared while the crowd from Blackpool, England chanted Symphony No. 9 in E Minor as The Ring General marched to the ring, delivered a big boot to Joe Coffey and ended the show by confronting Pete Dunne to close the show. WALTER would eventually beat Dunne for the UK Championship.
Since arriving to the main roster, GUNTHER has claimed several achievements, such as the Intercontinental Championship once, he would later become the longest reigning champion with said title with a record of 666 days. He’s won the 2024 King of the Ring Tournament, won the World Heavyweight Championship twice and recently won the Last Time Is Now Tournament and subsequently retired John Cena by making him tap out.
GUNTHER will be wrestling tonight against “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles on the live edition of Monday Night Raw live from Düsseldorf, Germany.
