TNA Wrestling has been officially partnered with WWE’s NXT brand since January of this year, but a talent exchange between the two sides started even before that. Both sides have sent top talent to the other promotion and have had talent being part of big stories between the two sides. NXT had Trick Williams and Jacy Jayne at their biggest PPV of the year – TNA Slammiversary – as the TNA World & Knockouts World champions.
NXT has had Matt & Jeff Hardy as their NXT Tag Team champions for a few weeks, and frequently featured Joe Hendry as a premier talent before he eventually signed with the company.
Surrounding recent discourse about the partnership possibly coming to an end soon, Mike Santana spoke with MSN’s Nishant Jayaram where he commented on TNA-NXT partnership.
“It’s been a wild ride working with NXT and doing the whole back-and-forth thing. I feel like both sides have learned and have benefited from the partnership, and I think we could continue seeing some stuff like this, man,”
“I mean, you know, how wrestling is, right? Things happen so quick. So, I always say just stay ready for whatever’s to come. You know what I mean? And I’ve like, I’m in a mindset of like whatever that day is going to bring, I embrace it, and I keep it going,”
Current TNA talent and X Division champion Leon Slater participated in the NXT Deadline show this past weekend, and is scheduled to team with NXT star Je’Von Evans to take on WWE stars AJ Stlyes and Dragon Lee this upcoming Saturday Night Main Event show as part of John Cena’s Last Match event.
Mike Santana is currently in the midst of the World Title scene on TNA, and expected to get rematch for the title very soon.
