Matt Hardy and Dax Harwood Battle Over 5 Star Matches on X
Two of professional wrestling’s tag team veterans, Matt Hardy (TNA) and Dax Harwood (AEW), engaged in a public, respectful, yet pointed exchange on X today, debating the value of highly rated in-ring performances versus storytelling and business impact.
The discussion stemmed from Harwood’s post earlier this week: “I think, in wrestling, the older you get, the more you complain about ‘5 star matches’. I also think, the older you get, the more you (secretly) wish you had 5 star matches. Whatever a 5 star match even is.”
Hardy sent a response to Harwood, stating “I think, on wrestling twitter, if you’re gonna decide to moan about someone’s take, you should @ them.” He emphasized focusing on box office draws and emotional connection, praised FTR’s talent, but critiqued AEW for leaning too heavily on matches at the expense of character and story opinions he expressed were his own and wished the company success.
Harwood then replied to Hardy by stating, “Matt, I have no idea what you’re talking about, why you think this is about you, or why you’re so upset with me. I’ve only EVER had good things to say about you & your brother. I thought, until today, we always had a great relationship.”
