TNA X Division Champion Leon Slater Set To Compete in Top Contender’s Match For NXT Heavyweight Title Shot At New Years Evil Event
Moments ago on the NXT broadcast, a big match was made for next week to determine the number one contender for the NXT Heavyweight Title. There will be a Fatal Fourway match, with the winner receiving a shot at NXT New Years Eveil against whoever the champion is at the time.
TNA X Division champion Leon Slater was backstage at the LIVE NXT show, where he was summoned to NXT General Manager Ava’s office. Dion Lennox from Dark State, Miles Borne, and Joe Hendry were all there as well. Ava announced that they’d all wrestle next week in a contenders match for the NXT Heavyweight Title.
Leon Slater is also scheduled to team up with Je’Von Evans this Saturday night for John Cena’s Last Match event at the Saturday Night Main Event show to take on the WWE Raw Tag Team Champions AJ Styles and Dragon Lee.
NXT New Years Evil is a TV special that will be taking place on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, and airing on the CW network.
