Andrade Opens Up and Clears Rumors of His Legal Situation

Andrade has been one of the major focuses of wrestling news for the last couple months after he left WWE. He subsequently appeared on both The Crash and AEW, leading to a mysterious case of him disappearing all of a sudden, only for it to be revealed that he had a non-compete clause from WWE that was not the typical 90 day one, but for an entire year.

Andrade was recently on Lucha Libre Youtuber Eduardo Bate’s podcast and was open about several details and clearing up the rumors of his legal status.

The current situation… So when I returned to AEW and I appeared on The Crash and won their Heavyweight Championship in Tijuana, I received a letter on the following Monday, I don’t remember the exact date. And the letter was from WWE that pretty much they informed me I had a non-compete clause that was gonna last for 12 months.

The current situation is that my lawyer are talking with WWE to reach out for the best deal. At first, they were a little closed and it was difficult on both sides because I was disoriented along my lawyer and a little upset about the clause. I understand WWE’s decision, appearing in AEW but I don’t know if that’s what annoyed WWE, I’m not sure about it.

Eduardo Bates then touched the subject about the rumors about Andrade not appearing in WWE for several weeks before he was released, making emphasis on the reality about the “suspension” and if he actually no showed some dates before everything occured.

“It’s a really long story and explanation. I don’t feel bad for leaving WWE at all but I am grateful for everything I did there since I came back a year and a half ago. To give you an explanation about all that will be too much details but I’ll tell you this: I never missed any dates at all, I never stopped replying to them on my phone like some people were reporting.

A lot of CHISMOSOS started reporting that I ghosted the team. I was on vacation because I had no programmed dates. They did call me when I was there and returned the call two hours later but it’s nothing compared to what they said that I disappeared intentionally and ignored them for weeks. The company just called to know where was I and if I was okay. I explained them I was out of the country and the signal wasn’t working correctly but I did replied to them.”
