Leave it to the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies to find the perfect blend of Memphis swagger and pure entertainment: the YEET Cam inspired by Main Event Jey Uso is officially here, and it’s already the loudest thing in the building.
This past weekend on December 7th, the new in-game feature spotlights fans on the video board, cues up Jey Uso’s entrance music, and turns the entire arena into one synchronized “YEET!” It’s equal parts WWE tribute, Beale Street energy, and that unmistakable Memphis attitude the city has been known for since the Grind House days.
However, it turns out the Memphis Grizzlies have implemented the “YEET Cam” as far back as the April 10, 2025 game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. A user on X formerly Twitter (@TheJonahDylan) had actually posted a clip of the Grizzlies using the YEET Cam during a timeout.
The move celebrates Jey’s “YEET” catchphrase and his massive Memphis fanbase, blending NBA energy with WWE flair.
Santi Aldama led the Grizzlies with 22 points (including three threes), and the Yeet Cam clips from the night went viral on social media, racking up thousands of views. It’s not clear if it’ll stick around long-term, but it was a perfect chaotic nod to Grind City roots.
