The NXT Championship was on the line to begin a PLE for the first time in NXT history at NXT Deadline. Ricky Saints and Oba Femi went at it for the second time for the championship. A lot of action between the two including a few near falls but Oba Femi was able to pick up the win to become the new NXT Champion. After the match, Saints and Femi showed each other respect with a handshake.
