Darby Allin Could Forfeit AEW’s Continental Classic
AEW’s Continental Classic started last week with intense battles of both the Blue and Golden League but it all came with consequences, specially after the contest between Darby Allin and Kevin Knight.
Darby Allin, an AEW star renowned for his daredevil in-ring style, has suffered a legitimate, non-storyline injury that has jeopardized his participation in the ongoing Continental Classic tournament. Allin was hospitalized following his Gold League match against Kevin Knight on the November 26 episode of Dynamite, a contest that saw Knight pick up the upset victory.
Bryan Alvarez from Wrestling Observer Radio claims that the injury occurred during a specific spot when Kevin Knight performed a Coast-to-Coast Dropkick that hit directly on Darby’s face. Match continued after this moment happened but with a slowed down tone after the intense minutes both wrestlers showed during the match. Knight would end up defeating Allin and the latter’s participation on the tournament is now up in the air. Allin was shown on the hospital during last night’s broadcast but it is reported he’s now resting at home and waiting for an official declaration from AEW’s Medical staff.
