Claudio Castagnoli Defeats Jon Moxley and Becomes Leader of AEW’s Continental Classic Blue League
Last night during AEW Dynamite we witnessed a collision that went beyond the Continental Classic, it was the contest between allies and brothers: Death Riders’ Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli fought in their first singles match between each other since 2017 to determine the leader of the Continental Classic’s Blue League.
The main event presented a brutal encounter between The Death Riders members. The new CMLL World Heavyweight Champion had no doubts when it came to confront Moxley in an absolute war that had blood, chairs and stomps. Jon Moxley attempted several locks to try and finish the match, but when the 5 minute mark was announced by Justin Roberts, Claudio surprised Moxley with a running Uppercut to knock him out and win the match, securing his spot as the leader of the Blue League in the Continental Classic.
