Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli Score the first points of AEW’s Continental Classic Blue League
On Wednesday, All Elite Wrestling held a new edition of Dynamite, which kicked off the Continental Classic 2025, offering incredible matches. In the start of the Blue League, The Death Riders members, Claudio Castagnoli and Jon Moxley, secured their first victories and earned three points in the tournament.
The first match saw Jon Moxley prevail over the CMLL representative, Máscara Dorada. The Mexican used his agility and high-risk maneuvers, such as a Tornillo Arm Drag and a 450 Splash, to surprise and punish Moxley’s arm. Despite Máscara Dorada’s impressive near-falls, Moxley’s aggression and resilience were decisive. The bout ended when Moxley trapped his opponent in a Sleeperhold, leaving Dorada unconscious and securing the three points.

In the main event, Claudio Castagnoli took a fundamental victory over Orange Cassidy. The match was a clash of styles: Cassidy used his quick movements to avoid Claudio’s power, even managing to connect multiple Orange Punches. However, the Swiss showed his strength and ended up reversing a Powerbomb attempt to finally connect a devastating Pop Up Uppercut that gave him the three-count.
Following the main event, Castagnoli’s celebration was interrupted when a frustrated Orange Cassidy attempted an attack, only to be immediately neutralized by the Death Riders. This triggered chaos with the appearance of Roderick Strong and several other Continental Classic competitors, such as Konosuke Takeshita, Máscara Dorada, and Kyle Fletcher, who joined the brawl. The night ended with a generalized fight, while Kazuchika Okada observed the scene from the ramp without intervening.
