CM Punk Talks John Cena’s Final Opponent, Says He Would’ve Been The Perfect Choice

On December 13, the illustrious career of John Cena will come to an end, with the ‘Last Time Is Now’ tournament currently underway to determine his final opponent. As of writing, those remaining in the field are GUNTHER, Solo Sikoa, Jey Uso and LA Knight as fans wait to see who’ll earn the right to face the 17-time world champion at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Giving his thoughts on who John Cena’s final opponent should be, CM Punk spoke on Up & Adams with Kay Adams to reflect on those left in the tournament. Here, ‘The Second City Saint’ gave his view that he himself would’ve been the perfect last match for Cena, although he tipped GUNTHER to earn that right.
“Perfect, probably would’ve been me. Who is the perfect opponent that is actually in the field, right now, I don’t know if it’s perfect, but it’s looking like Gunther. I’ve been in the ring with him and I know what he can do. I don’t know who else in that tournament can beat him right now,”

While Punk won’t face off with John Cena in the legend’s final match, the pair renewed their rivalry for one last time in Saudi Arabia earlier this year. Back when Cena was the Undisputed WWE Champion, he retained his gold against one of his biggest rivals at Night Of Champions.
