On November 17, U.S. Marshals arrested two suspects in the murder of Kevin Nikel, also known as Knuckles Madsen in WWE. The US Marshalls identified the suspects as Michael Hogue and Amanda Penny.
The detectives have yet to reveal what occurred on the night of Nikel’s death although it is confirmed that he was able to wrestle away the gun from Hogue after he was shot in the abdomen. Nikel, as he laid mortally wounded, identified Hogue as the shooter before succumbing to his injuries at a local hospital.
Amanda Penny was the ex-wife of the victim. Their divorce was finalized days prior to the shooting. Michael Hogue is Penny’s new partner and the alleged mastermind behind the plot.
Nikel’s mother Susan Kinderman provided an emotional statement after news of the arrest
“We still don’t know exactly what happened when he got shot. The detectives have been pretty close lipped on that, which is good, but we’d still like to know exactly what happened and who did what. There was some kind of an argument. Maybe there was texting going back and forth. I think they enticed Kevin to meet up with them. I was told by the detectives that there was some kind of altercation. Shots were fired, and Kevin was killed, and that’s all we really know.”
Kinderman further commented on Amanda Penny:
“She was his first friend that he met in high school. They were dating, then they got married. They were happy for a long time, and then I guess they started to grow apart. And, you know, neither one of them were happy. Kevin took a job where he could be gone two weeks at a time, and things just progressively got worse, until they divorced.”
According to the U.S. Marshals, Michael Hogue was charged with first-degree murder and firearm charges. He was arrested in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Amanda Penny was charged with being an accomplice to first-degree murder and also faces firearm charges. She was arrested in Rogers, Arkansas.
