Blake Monroe Retains the NXT Women’s North American Championship Over Sol Ruca at NXT Gold Rush

Blake Monroe and Sol Ruca delivered a high octane match that had moments even the Ruthless Aggression era would be proud of.

Sol Ruca was heavily focused on gaining back the NXT Women’s North American Championship that she never lost.

Blake Monroe immediately zeroed in on Sol Ruca’s knee injury by utilizing a Single Leg Boston Crab to exploit the pain further. Sol Ruca was not a pushover in this matchup as she did not allow the injury to deter her focus and ended up reversing the submission hold which turned into a spinning facebuster.

Although Sol Ruca delivered enough offense to potentially dethrone Blake Monroe, it was the latter’s alter ego that proved to be dominant. When it seemed Sol Ruca was gaining momentum, Blake was able lock in two more brutal single leg crabs.

As Zaria witnessed the entire matchup unfold at ringside, she finally retrieved a towel to which Sol pleaded with her not to throw in. After much contemplation, Zaria decided to throw in the towel allowing Blake Monroe to defeat Sol Ruca to retain the NXT Women’s North American Championship.
