Moments ago, the TNA World Champion took to his social media X/Twitter to hype the major accomplishment.
“1000 DAYS CLEAN AND SOBER.
Very proud of this milestone. Blessed with what I’ve been able to accomplish during this time. Both personally and professionally. Living proof of what happens when you put in the work. I’d be lying if I told you that everyday was easy. Life is going to do what life does, but I’m thankful to have a set of tools to help me maneuver thru the bad as well as the good.
Thanks to everyone who’s rode with me thru it all. The ride continues…”
Santana hasn’t been shy about his past struggles and in fact has embraced them both personally and professionally. What’s more than embracing it, Santana has used it to fuel his journey to get where he is right now.
Santana largely credits his daughter for the letter she wrote him a few years ago asking him to get clean. While celebrating the TNA World Title victory at Bound for Glory with his daughter, he was very humble in victory.
“This moment will be with me for the rest of my life.
If my daughter didn’t write her Christmas letter to Santa, asking him for “Her Papi to stop…” I wouldn’t be here today.
She literally saved my life. And I owe her everything.
THANK YOU MAMA.
TE QUIERO CON TODO MI CORAZON.”
Some of it has played out on TNA television, with other things have been kept private or Santana has addressed in previous interviews. Either way, it’s an incredible journey and the fans are thankful that Santana has chosen to share that side of him with all of us.
Santana is the current TNA World Champion having defeated NXT star Trick Williams at the Bound For Glory PPV one month ago. Santana is scheduled to team with TNA International Champion Steve Maclin this Friday night at the LIVE Turning Point event to take on the team of Frankie Kazarian and Nic Nemeth. The event takes place at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida.
