Chris Jericho Touts TNA Bound For Glory: “It Looked Huge. It Was Like A WWE-Level Crowd. TNA Looked Like The Second Biggest Company In The World”
There has been a lot of speculation and rumors running rampant surrounding Chris Jericho the last few months with his time in All Elite Wrestling possibly coming to an end. Chris has been very quiet about the subject publicly, but we may have at least an indication of what he’s thinking after his most recent revelation.
While speaking on his “Talk is Jericho” podcast, Chris Jericho talks about watching the final match between Team 3D and The Hardy’s at TNA’s Bound for Glory PPV, Jericho says TNA looked like the second biggest company in the world at Bound for Glory:
“That crowd looked huge. It looked huge. It was like a WWE-level crowd. The place was packed.
I was watching this and, not saying anything out of school here, but comparing it to watching Dynamite when they were at the ECW Arena, which looked like a Tony Condello taping — sorry, it did — TNA looked like the second biggest company in the world, and that was amazing. And the presentation was amazing.”
TNA hyped a “record breaking North American attendance” of 7,794 for the PPV event.
Chris Jericho almost signed with TNA parent company Anthem Sports to work some IMPACT WRESTLING (TNA) events back in 2018-2019 before ultimately agreeing to reset his career in AEW.
“I thought long and hard about doing some shows there. I even had a meeting with Scott and Don in Toronto with Ed Nordholm; the offer they made was a great offer. That’s something funny, when I hear ‘all of these companies are vying for talent, free agents—WWE, AEW, New Japan, Ring Of Honor, MLW—dude, what about IMPACT? They’ve got money. They were going to spend some money on Chris Jericho – then Tony Khan came in with this offer, that’s the biggest offer I’ve ever been offered in my career.”
These are certainly interesting comments from Jericho, and he likely knew they would lead to discourse about his future with his current AEW contract expiring at the end of 2025, according to Fightful Select. Here’s what was reported a few weeks ago by the outlet –
“Even though Jericho’s contract isn’t up yet, Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp has confirmed that multiple companies on a national and global level are interested in using him, including WWE. We have not heard if there’s been any direct conversations about him or creative ideas discussed, but he has been brought up among higher ups in WWE.”
Chris Jericho was one of the primary members behind the mainstream launch of AEW, as he was the inaugural AEW World Champion and a familiar face that people could get behind. Chris only one the top prize one time in AEW, and has continually toured with his band Fozzy as well.
Chris is also a former three-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, a nine-time Intercontinental, a two-time WWE United States champion, as well as numerous Tag Team Title reigns. Many fans speculate that Chris Jericho might want to return to WWE and finish his career there with one last Hall of Fame run and nomination.
Tony Khan has made it known that he would like Chris Jericho to stay in AEW, however, until today we haven’t really been given any indication or even public speculation about what Jericho could be thinking.
