Moments ago kicking off the NXT Showdown between TNA and NXT, history was made as the Hardy brothers (Matt & Jeff) defeated Dark State and became the NXT Tag Team Titles. The match ended when Jeff came off the top rope and nailed one of them with a Swanton 450 Splash
The match kicked off the show.
The historic parts of this victory for the Hardy’s and TNA Wrestling are that the Hardys have never been NXT Tag Team Champions before, and no other major pro wrestling or sports entertainment entity has allowed one of their official partners to win a title of theirs.
The Hardy’s are scheduled to defend their TNA Tag Team Titles against Team 3D (Bully Ray & Dvon Dudley) this Sunday, October 12, at the TNA Bound For Glory PPV, billed as One Last Tables Match between the two teams.
