NXT Heavyweight Champion Ricky Saints and NXT Women’s champion Jacy Jayne are both in the ring. NXT General Manager Ava makes her way out and reveals that Ricky and Jacy will be the captains of their respective teams for the SHOWDOWN special next week.
TNA Director of authority Santino Marella makes his way out and reveals that Mike Santana and TNA Knockouts World Champion Kelani Jordan will be the team TNA captains.
Santino calls the event next week a SHOWDOWN instead of an Invasion.
We go backstage to Ricky Saints In the locker room. He chooses Je’Von Evans and Trick Williams for his team, which still leaves one open spot.
Josh Briggs was fighting Myles Borne for the last remaining spot on team NXT. Just as Briggs was about to use his chain to hit Myles, TNA star Matt Cardona jumps on onto the apron and grabs Briggs arm. The distracted allows Myles to get the upper hand and win the match. Myles Borne is officially part of team NXT.
After Leon Slater and Je’Von Evans win their match in the match event, a camera pulls up imagery from the parking lot where the TNA roster is in the parking lot and ready to come into the Performance Center. They’re met by a whole much of the NXT locker room.
Both locker rooms are inside the venue as TNA make their way through the crowd and. NXT comes out from the back.
Ava and Santino come out with their respective locker rooms and get the team captains in the ring. On the NXT side for the men, we’ll see NXT champion Ricky Starks, Je’Von Evans, TNA World champion Trick Williams, and Myles Borne. For the TNA side, Santana chooses TNA International champion Frankie Kazarian, X Division champion Leon Slater, and former three-time TNA World Champion, Moose.
The NXT-TNA SHOWDOWN event will be held next Tuesday night at 8/7central on the CW network.
