Triple H: Our Goal in Saudi Arabia Since the Beginning Is to Change Their Perception and Open an Umbrella for Women and the Country

Triple H opens up more about the partnership with Saudi Arabia.

The deal was made in 2018, where the WWE and Saudi Arabia partnered up for a ten-year deal to bring events over there for the fans and people of the country. However, many have shown plenty of criticism when it came to these events due to Saudi Arabia and their suppressing of women’s and LGBTQ rights in the past, and women in WWE weren’t able to perform at the early Saudi shows.

Something that has changed over the years with more women competing at the Saudi events. A goal that Triple H says has been something they were looking forward to making happen since inking the deal with Saudi Arabia.

Triple H said on The Pat McAfee Show, “That’s been their goal since the beginning, to change their perception, to change how they are, to open up that umbrella for women and with the country. It takes time. You can’t just do that stuff all at once, or you alienate all the people that are in front of it and have a long-standing belief. You have to do it over time. I truly believe that to initiate change, you have to be a part of it. You can’t just sit back on the sidelines and say, ‘We’re not going to participate in that and these people don’t do things right.’ You need to be there and be part of that change. We’ve been part of that change since the beginning.”

The WWE will be sending their Crown Jewel event to Perth, Australia this October, the headliners are for the Crown Jewel Rings, the same ones given to the winners of the last Saudi Arabia Crown Jewel event, which was the current WWE Undisputed Champion, Cody Rhodes, and former WWE Women’s World Champion, Liv Morgan, who is currently sidelined with an injury.
