Lyra Valkyria: I Never Thought It Would Have Been Possible to Beat Becky Lynch for the NXT Women’s Championship In 2023
Lyra Valkyria has definitely had a wild road in the WWE.
Since teasing fans with her arrival in 2022, Lyra Valkyria has done a lot during her time in the WWE, but it all began with a hope and a dream of defeating the very best, and that’s what she did when she earned an opportunity to battle for the NXT Women’s World Championship against the former champion, Becky Lynch.
When speaking with FM102/1, Lyra was asked about the opportunities she sees waiting for her in the next five-to-ten years of her career.
“Oh, like, I have to even think about the opportunities that are on the horizon that I don’t even know about yet. You know, I came to NXT, I won… the NXT Women’s Championship from Becky Lynch. How would I know that she would come back to NXT? That’s not something I would have thought possible. I’m the first ever Women’s Intercontinental Champion. That title did not exist a year ago, you know? So I just feel like 2025, WWE’s on Netflix, all these legends are returning. It’s just such a crazy time where anything can happen. So who knows where I’ll be in six months’ time? Nevermind 10 years’ time.”
Lyra is currently involved in a story with the returning Bayley who has been showing signs of different personalities and emotions since her recent backstage spat with Lyra before leaving for therapy.
