Lee South Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara vs Aussie Open Indianapolis, IN AEW Dynamite 9/6/23

Jim Ross does not want to see Chris Jericho depart from All Elite Wrestling.

In the past couple of months, Chris Jericho, who had such a strong presence on AEW TV has not been seen and it has sparked rumors from all sides with many believing he may depart from All Elite Wrestling so he can return to the WWE sometime in the near future.

Despite the shutdown of the rumors, many in AEW wonder what could happen next, including Jim Ross who says that AEW needs Jericho to remain in the company on the Grilling JR podcast.

“Oh god, yeah. He’s got a great following. He’s always treated his fans respectfully, his quality of work maintains itself. People want to see more of him. He’s smart as a whip. He’s a real businessman. I’ve said this before, I hope that he doesn’t leave AEW. We need him. We can use his skill set, his leadership. I see him countless times talking to some kid in the corner and talking about their character or their presentation. He’s got time for everybody and he’s smart as hell. He’s a student of the game in the true sense of the word. He’s a born coach.”

Jim Ross serves on commentary for big main events, and recently, it has been Bryan Danielson who has been filling in his spots as a full-time commentator for AEW.
