Grayson Waller Reveals the Fantastic Advice He Was Given by Nigel McGuinness
Grayson Waller praises Nigel McGuinness for being a helping hand before departing from WWE.
Grayson Waller has rose through the ranks when it comes to the independent scene in Australia to competing in NXT to get to the main roster. While speaking with the No-Contest Wrestling Podcast, Waller was asked about the best advice he has received during his career, to which he mentioned and praised Nigel McGuinness, who currently works for All Elite Wrestling as a commentator.
“Yeah, the best advice I’ve ever got was from Nigel McGuinness a couple of years ago when he was commentating with us. I asked him for some advice on a match. He said, ‘I don’t believe you think you’re the best. I believe that you think you need to train harder and need to learn more. When Muhammad Ali was fighting, he didn’t think that way. When Muhammad Ali was fighting the whole time he was in there, he was the best in the world. He carried him that way, and that’s why he was so good.’
“I think that was fantastic advice, because as wrestlers, there’s always vets around and people better than us, and people have done it longer, and you want to learn and all these things, but like when you’re in the ring, that’s all going to disappear. I think that energy of, ‘I’m better than everyone’ is very dangerous in a good way.”
McGuinness was part of WWE for a couple of years, and even had the opportunity to be part of WrestleMania for the Cruiserweight Championship action.
