TNA Director of Authority & Former WWE Superstar Santino Marella Comments On NXT-TNA Invasion

NXT star Trick Williams is the current TNA World Champion. NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne is a former TNA Knockouts World champion, both outside of TNA but held their two prestigious titles at the same time. Many fans suspected some of the talent really weren’t happy, and it seems that thought is now validated.

TNA Wrestling Director of Authority Santino Marella says some people in TNA were “legitimately pissed” when NXT had both TNA World Titles (Knockouts included).

“Because of all the hard work, all the dedication, all the sacrifice, we’re not gonna sit back and let someone take it from us.

“When both titles were in the hands of NXT Superstars, it was not a good feeling. That was the only time I saw some tension backstage, because people were pissed. Legitimately pissed.

“We got one back, and we want the World Heavyweight Championship back. And you know what, we wanna take some of theirs too, show them how it felt.

“We banded together, we rose up, and we did what we had to do. If they wanna try and retaliate, go ahead, we’re ready, and we’ll see. Our roster against their roster, I’m pretty comfortable that we’re gonna come out on top.

“If you wanna say ‘let the best team win’ or whatever, let the best team win. I’m confident in my team and I’m sure Shawn is confident in his team. And the by-product is, it’s gonna make some awesome TV.”

A few weeks ago at the LIVE NXT Heatwave, the lovely Ash By Elegance won back the TNA Knockouts World Title by defeating both Masha Slamovich and NXT star Jacy Jayne from Jacy. Jacy secreted Masha Slamovich at the TNA Slammiversary PPV back in June.

On Tuesday, TNA conducted a full blown invasion of the NXT show and roster, and then yesterday Bodyslam covered the updates for TNA-NXT crossover partnership.

TNA is on a full-scale invasion as the quest to get their top title back heats up. Mike Santana challenges Trick Williams for the TNA World Title at the Bound For Glory PPV on Sunday, October 12.

Will Santana bring it back to TNA, or will Trick find a way to hold onto the title awhile longer? We’ll have to tune in or buy tickets to Bound For Glory to find out.
