Rob Van Dam Says He Was Almost One of John Cena’s Final Opponents Until He Broke His Heels
RVD almost clashed with John Cena one last time.
While speaking with TMZ Sports’ Inside The Ring, Rob Van Dam, the former WWE, ECW, and TNA World Heavyweight Champion spoke about the interest levels he had with the WWE to be brought back in as one of John Cena’s final opponents during his retirement tour. However, an injury prevented that from happening.
“Let me tell you this, I wanted to be one of the return matches for John Cena and his retirement tour. I was talking to them. There was a lot of interest; without giving away too many details, we were probably going to do it. Then I broke my heels.”
Cena is set to battle Brock Lesnar at WWE Wrestlepalooza on September 20th in Indianapolis for WWE’s first PLE on ESPN.
