Former WWE Women’s Champion Wants To Be Part Of TNA-WWE Partnership, Hints At Going After TNA Knockouts Title; Ash Picks Up New Sponsorship
Ash By Elegance won the TNA Knockouts World Title on the NXT Heatwave show, defeating both TNA Knockout Masha Slamovich and NXT star Jacy Jayne in a Three Way Match.
During an interview with Alistair McGeorge via the Metro UK publication, Ash revealed that after she won the TNA Knockouts World Championship, Bayley sent her a message congratulating her:
“Bayley sent me such a cool message. She’s like, ‘I just want to let you know I’m so proud of you and you’re so effing cool. I’ve always wanted to hold a TNA Title.’”
‘Never say never. A year ago I would say that’s probably never going to happen, but it most definitely can happen now,’ she teased. ‘I would love to share the ring with Bayley again.’
Ash also said (current AEW TBS champion) Mercedes Moné sent her the emoji.
Back in February, shortly after the TNA & WWE partnership was announced, former WWE Women’s champion Bayley mentioned wanting to be part of the relationship.
“When they announced the TNA partnership, I texted Hunter immediately and said, ‘Sign me up, dude.’ He was like, ‘Oh, okay, hold your horses.’
Whether Bayley or any other main roster talent will be part of the collaboration between TNA and WWE remains to be seen; so far it has been limited to NXT talent with the exception of an AJ Styles appearance at TNA Slammiversary.
Yesterday, official TNA sponsor A-Game Hydration – owned by former MLB World Series Champion Johnny Damon – officially announced that they’re sponsoring TNA Knockouts World Champion, Ash By Elegance.
TNA revealed A-Game as an official sponsor prior to the Slammiversary PPV in July.
