AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door
FINAL SCORE (7.5 OUT OF 10)

The big news coming out of the show was the post-match angles to write both Will Ospreay and “Swerve” Strickland out of action. Sending best wishes for healthy recovery to both Ospreay and Swerve. I’ve liked the concept of having a Forbidden Door show once a year. The show doesn’t feel special when you see wrestlers from NJPW and CMLL makes appearances on AEW TV throughout the year. The other problem this year was Forbidden Door took place during the G1 Tournament schedule due to All In Texas taking place in July. That didn’t help as they couldn’t build the show like they wanted. There was nothing bad on the show. We got some great matches. This was mostly a show filled with solid matches. Good to see both Jamie Hayter and Wardlow back in action. I want to give mention to Bryan Danielson who was tremendous on commentary and made the matches more enjoyable to watch. The same specialness of Forbidden Door isn’t there anymore. This was an enjoyable show to watch. Overall, a good PPV.
