Shawn Michaels: There’s Not Another Brand That Works So Hard to Create Stars in Order to Lose Them

HBK speaks on the future stars of NXT.

Shawn Michaels, who is the current Senior Vice President of Talent Development and Creative at WWE NXT has been tasked at hand with making sure the future of WWE is in good hands with the men and women who are part of their developmental brand which has also been treated as a place for those who can excel and hone their craft.

Michaels spoke with Justin Barrasso of the Boston Herald and talked about this past weekend’s NXT event Heatwave, plus gave praise to everyone in NXT who steps up to the place and allows him to be a positive influence for them.

“Heatwave is going to be fantastic, and I can’t wait for people to experience it,” said Michaels. “I’m thankful to be in a line of work that I know a lot about and in a role I love. If it helps the men and women here grow personally and professionally, then that’s even more of a positive.”

“There’s not another brand out there that works so hard to create stars in order to lose them,” said Michaels. “Everybody else builds stars to be able to draw money and ratings for their show. We do it to then send them off somewhere else. That is unlike any other brand, and it is part of the value NXT brings to the wrestling business as a whole.”

Lexus King is set to battle Myles Borne in a blindfold match on the August 26th edition of WWE NXT.
