Anthony Bowens Says He Doesn’t Think He Can Trust Billy Gunn in His Corner Anymore

Lee South Max Caster Open Challenge Philadelphia, PA AEW Dynasty April 6, 2025

Anthony Bowens is not happy with the recent actions of Billy Gunn.

Since repackaging himself as the Pride of Pro Wrestling, Anthony Bowens has been given challenge after challenge, and while some were easy to defeat, there have been those who have kept Bowens in his place, but that is not the biggest problem Bowens is currently dealing with.

In a video posted to AEW’s social media platforms, Bowens spoke about Billy Gunn, who has been there for the Pride of Pro Wrestling, but the main topic was about Gunn stepping in, so Bowens didn’t hurt Max Caster, their former tag team partner any further than he already has tried to.

“That was bullshit. You know that was bullshit Billy. What are you doing? What are you thinking? Do you understand how much stress that I have been under these last couple of months being the pride of professional wrestling? All of you don’t see this cause they don’t put it on the TV show. But I’m out every single week giving up my free time to represent this company, to represent you, to represent this industry. I spent four long days on a soap opera set. I was throwing out the first pitch of the San Francisco Giants game for you. I was an ambassador for AEW at the fandom after party at Comic-Con talking to Marvel and DC executives about AEW for you. There is a lot going on, so forgive me if I come to work and I get a little upset because fans are chanting for the most delusional person I have ever met in my entire existence on this earth. Do you want me to just be happy, show up and dance? Billy? I never forgot what you did, and I’m starting to get PTSD. Let me rewind for you real quick. In 2022, you were the one that betrayed The Acclaimed, you! That has always been in the back of my head. Two, three, however many weeks ago, you picked me up, you launched me across the ring, and now you get in my face tonight, and get in between my business that I have with Caster. I don’t know if I trust you anymore.”

No word yet on if Bowens, Gunn, or Caster will be appearing on the August 27th edition of AEW Dynamite following their travels back from London, England.
