WWE Announces First Premium Live Event With ESPN, WrestlePalooza Set to Air on September 20th
WWE will present their first premium live event on ESPN.
It was announced on September 20th that the WWE will be airing their first premium live event/pay-per-view on ESPN, the deal was finalized for five years with a value of $1.6 billion on hand. The event that will kick off this new partnership will be paying homage to ECW’s former event: Wrestlepalooza.
The event is set to air on the same day as All Elite Wrestling’s All Out event that will be held in Toronto, Ontario.
This was first reported by WrestleVotes on August 17th. Many believe that the headliner to this first show with ESPN will be between John Cena, who is in his retirement year with the WWE, against the returning Brock Lesnar.
Lesnar was named forty-four times in a lawsuit by former WWE employee, Janel Grant, who alleges she was sexually assaulted and trafficked by Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and the WWE while allegedly being forced to send disturbing images and videos to Lesnar, under orders by McMahon to get him to sign an extension with the WWE.
BodySlam will continue to monitor this story and report any updates.
