Eric Bischoff Says the Last Video Game He Ever Played Was Pong on His TV In 1972
Eric Bischoff recalled the last time he played a video game.
World Championship Wrestling released ten video games throughout their time as a professional wrestling company. One of their most popular games was WCW/NWO Revenge on the Nintendo 64.
During a recent edition of his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff, spoke about how much he enjoyed the process that went into making WCW/NWO Revenge a popular game for pro wrestling fans and recalled the last video game that he played.
“WCW/nWo Revenge. That’s just because it was really, it was like, wow, that’s kind of like the brand split, although I didn’t know the term brand split back when I was trying to figure out a way to give WCW one show and nWo another show; That video game was kind of a digital manifestation of that idea, so I guess that’s why it’s probably my favorite. Full disclosure: I’ve never played a video game in my life. I think I played Pong when it first came out, 1972 or whatever it was, when you could play it on your TV screen. Yeah, that was the last video game I played in 1972, so I don’t have any firsthand knowledge of gameplay, but from a branding perspective, and just the way it was promoted and the timing of it, that was a big one for us.”
Bischoff has been featured in plenty of WWE video games since he joined the company following the demise of World Championship Wrestling. His most recent addition to the WWE 2K series was this past year with his rating being a whopping 69.
