Zilla Fatu: Dominik Mysterio Was the Only One That I Could Connect with When We Were Backstage In WWE As Kids
Zilla Fatu reflects on his childhood.
When he was a little Zilla Fatu, the son of the late Umaga would spend some of his childhood years backstage in the WWE with his family and some of the other kids who had parents that were either wrestlers or part of the WWE in some capacity.
When reflecting on moments like that, Fatu spoke to Chris Van Vliet about how the only kid he really connected with was Dominik Mysterio, who is the current WWE Intercontinental Champion.
“Growing up, I just remember me and Dom, Rey Mysterio’s son, me and him just growing up backstage, just running around, doing little boy stuff and just being wild and not listening to our parents. That’s the only thing I remember, and I remember out of all the kids, because they have other wrestlers’ families backstage, running around. I couldn’t connect with them. Dom was the only person that I could connect with.“ – Zilla Fatu said to Chris Van Vliet.
Zilla also mentioned that he did not feel he was ready to join the WWE yet until he truly felt he was ready for the biggest stage of his professional wrestling career.
