Vince McMahon: Hulk Hogan Said Some Racist Things, But He Wasn’t Racist

Vince McMahon doubles down on his time spent knowing Hulk Hogan.

On August 12th, TMZ premiered ‘The Real Hulk Hogan’ documentary which focused on the impact and aftermath of the passing of one of the biggest names in professional wrestling history, but one of the names brought in on this was one that many did not expect to see or hear from for quite a long time.

Vince McMahon, the former Chairman of the WWE was a guest on the documentary and was asked about the racist comments made by Hogan a decade ago which led to Hogan’s firing from the WWE before they brought him back not too long after.

This is what McMahon had to say about Hogan’s racist comments.

“I knew he wasn’t a racist. I’d been with him for so many years. He wasn’t a racist. He said some racist things, and he should pay for that. And he did. But in the end, I think everyone saw the real Hulk Hogan, Terry Bollea, and they felt, ‘Wait a minute, this guy—he doesn’t act like a racist. He’s not a racist.’ We all make mistakes. That was a big one, but he wasn’t a racist.”McMahon said to TMZ

In January 2024, Janel Grant, a former employee for the WWE filed a lawsuit against McMahon, the WWE, and John Laurinaitis. It accused the three of sexual assault and sex trafficking. McMahon would go on to depart from the WWE after it was filed.
