TNA President Carlos Silva Provides Huge Update Regarding Media Rights: “As We Get To Bound For Glory, That Would Absolutely Be The Goal To Try And Get It Done By Then”

Earlier today, Jon Alba of The Takedown on Sports Illustrated spoke to TNA President Carlos Silva about the current status of the media rights deal that Silva has been talking about since prior to Slammiversary.

It seems Alba was able to get somewhat of a solid goal for the media rights to be done – or at least agreed to.

“I think Bound For Glory is a great, a great stake in the sand in terms of us getting everything together as we look to the 2026 year and season,” Silva said.
“And so, I think August will be quiet. It usually is in the media, in the media deal space, but hopefully we’ll work through a few things, move the ball forward a little bit in August, and then I think in September and October as we get to Bound For Glory, that would absolutely be the goal to try and get it done by then. Or certainly, if it’s not done, have it agreed to.”

The first-year TNA president acknowledged the legal process could extend the timeline, but remained optimistic a deal could be reached by October.

For weeks now, speculation has been running rampant throughout the wrestling community since about two weeks prior to Slammiversary where TNA President Carlos Silva was very vocal about getting TNA a better television/broadcast/streaming deal in an interview surfaced with Carlos Silva and John Wallstreet where some of the same topic was discussed, however, no specific network was named. Silva also

mentioned looking for about $10 million for a media rights deal.

As far as a broadcast partner goes, about two weeks ago Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio shared that A&E network was the alleged “frontrunner” to land TNA on their platform, however, another network has now emerged as being rumored for negotiations with TNA, and In the August 4th edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave spilled the beans on a possible alternative network being interested – The CW – which Fightful Select later confirmed.

When asked directly about those two specific entities being potential landing spots, Silva confirmed they are very much in the running.

“Oh, absolutely. Yeah. All of those and more, where, you know, we got to navigate all of these properties that have other properties. And where are they all in their renewals? I mean, it’s a chess board, puzzle pieces, and media rights when you’re doing these deals,” he said.

“And so it’s about timing. It’s about who’s coming, who’s going, and where the slots are. And certainly our job, and I think we did it in such a big way at Slammiversary, is to keep putting a great product out there that, to your point, creates buzz. If it creates buzz, then properties are going to want you.”

Last week, with the news that WWE would be moving PLEs off of the Peacock app in 2026, a report emerged that Peacock is reportedly the “frontrunner” for TNA to get a streaming deal with.

Shortly after the above-referenced John Wallstreet interview, TNA President Carlos Silva was on the Ariel Helwani show talking more in-depth about media rights and also revealed the subscriber count for the TNA + app. Silva reiterated a 60-90 day expectation for a new media rights deal.

Last week, TNA President Carlos Silva sat down for a zoom interview with WhatCulture Wrestling’s Andrew Pollard to discuss the latest update on TNA’s historic 48 hour pre-sale for Bound For Glory, setting the Tsongas Center up to break the Slammiversary attendance record.

They’re off to a great start, as the company has already moved over 3,000 tickets in the few days of on-sale, according to WrestleTix.

TNA Bound For Glory is currently scheduled for the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts and is officially advertising The Hardy’s taking on Team 3D for One Last Match.
