John Cena: In The 23 Years That I Have Been In WWE, I Have Never Once Chosen My Opponent

John Cena reflects on the final parts of his retirement tour.

In the closing moments of SummerSlam this past month, John Cena took one last photo for his brain to reflect on in his retirement tour from the WWE. However, it would be interrupted by the returning Brock Lesnar who attacked Cena and planted the seeds for a future final showdown between the two men.

Days after Triple H said that Cena had reportedly wanted this match, this is what the Greatest of All Time had to say during a recent interview with Justin Barrasso of The Boston Herald in regards to the cards he has been dealt this year and how he’s played each round since.

“I’ve been doing this for 23 years, and I’ve never once chosen my opponent. I’ve always lived by the philosophy that life will give you opportunities every single day, and you have to do the best you can every single day with what life gives you. So whoever challenges me for that last match, I’m going to give it my best shot.” – John Cena said to the Boston Herald

Cena lost at SummerSlam to Cody Rhodes in a street fight for the WWE Championship in the main event of night two.

Lesnar was named forty-four times in a lawsuit by former WWE Employee, Janel Grant, who alleges she was sexually assaulted and trafficked by the likes of Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, the WWE, and Lesnar, who was sent disturbing images to allegedly convince him to sign an extension with the WWE.
