Bret Hart: Wrestlers Today Would Be A Lot Better Off If They Copied My Wrestling Moves A Little More

The Hitman spoke about the respect he’s been shown post-retirement.

During an episode of Ringer Wrestling’s Masked Man Show, the ‘Hitman’ Bret Hart was the guest and was asked about wrestlers today and how they’ve reached out to him personally to pay respect and homage to the legend inside of the ring by performing some of the moves he would execute during his prime.

Here is the full quote below.

“A lot of guys give me the courtesy of calling me and asking me, saying, ‘Would it be okay if we do this on TV. We want to do this as a sign of respect, but I wanted to ask you first. I don’t want to steal your moves without asking.’ After you retire, it’s fair game, they can help themselves to all my moves. I don’t need them anymore. I take it as a compliment and whenever I watch wrestling and I see something that is obviously a salute, I take it as a huge compliment, especially from the wrestlers today. They’d all be a lot better off if they copied me more.” – Bret Hart said on the Masked Man Show

Hart also spoke about how he came up to the former World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther, and let him know that he wasn’t a fan of his chops or ‘Lazy Shit Wrestling” as the Hitman called it.
