TNA President Carlos Silva on Media Rights Update: “We Need A Great Deal In The UK, In Germany, & The US – We’re Working On All Of That”

TNA President Carlos Silva sat down for a zoom interview with WhatCulture Wrestling’s Andrew Pollard to discuss the latest update on the media rights and where it stands.

There was an interview you did – I think it was with Ariel Helwani – where you said there could possibly be a 60-90 day window where something could be announced or at least put in place. Give us the scoop on that, please. Where are we? 

“It’s only been a few weeks since Slammiversary; a few things have happened since then, some more discussions have happened, and we continue to work on it every day. It’s the number one, number two, and number three thing on my docket, on my to do list every day – how to bring TNA to a bigger audience – and not just in the States. We’ve already got a great deal with SportsNet in Canada, we’ve got a great deal with Claro for South American countries, we’ve got a great deal in India with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), but we need a great deal in the UK, we need a great deal in Germany, and we need a great deal in the US – we’re working on all of them. 

I do think the window is still that same time frame (60-90 days). August does get a little slow in general for everyone – getting the kids back to school, taking a final vacation at the end of August, so sometimes you do lose a week or two but that’s OK. We keep working on that every day. 

All I can tell the fans is it’s my job to work on this every day, I take that very seriously. We’re going to keep working on it because I want more and more fans to see what the team does and what the wrestlers do in the ring. It’s a great product with a lot of heart, soul, and emotion that goes into it and we need more people to see that. I hope everyone can get on TNA + and see the Fade to Black (documentary) because that gives everyone a little glimpse of what happens in TNA and then hopefully come out to our shows. As soon as we have the I’s dotted and the T’s crossed we’ll let you know, Andrew.”

Yesterday, with the news that WWE would be moving PLEs off of the Peacock app in 2026, a report emerged that Peacock is reportedly the “frontrunner” for TNA to get a streaming deal with.

As far as a broadcast partner goes, last week, Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio shared that A&E network was the alleged “frontrunner” to land TNA on their platform, however, another network has now emerged as being rumored for negotiations with TNA, and In the August 4th edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave spilled the beans on a possible alternative network being interested – The CW – which Fightful Select later confirmed. 

Shortly after the above-referenced John Wallstreet interview, TNA President Carlos Silva was on the Ariel Helwani show talking more in-depth about media rights and also revealed the subscriber count for the TNA + app. Silva reiterated a 60-90 day expectation for a new media rights deal.
