Cody Rhodes comments on the return of Brock Lesnar.
At the end of SummerSlam Sunday on August 3rd, Cody Rhodes got his revenge by defeating John Cena in the main event of a street fight at the biggest party of the summer to win the WWE Championship for a second time in his career. However, that was not the headlines were reporting.
Moments later, Cena was saluting fans and thanking them for being part of his final SummerSlam event as he prepares for retirement at the end of the year, until he was interrupted by Brock Lesnar, who hasn’t been on WWE TV in nineteen months. Lesnar delivered an F5 to Cena before leaving once again.
When asked about the return of Lesnar, this is what the new WWE Champion had to say about his former rival.
Lesnar has been named over forty-four times in the lawsuit with details from Grant on the sexual abuse and trafficking that she allegedly dealt with at the hands of McMahon, and others from the WWE.
A spokesperson for Grant released a statement following Lesnar’s return which you can read below.
Rhodes is set to make his first appearance as WWE Champion on the August 8th edition of Friday Night SmackDown. We will keep you posted on anything new we hear from Grant or her lawyers.
