CM Punk Dedicates World Heavyweight Championship Match at SummerSlam to Roddy Piper
The Best in the World is ready to take the top of the mountain again.
At SummerSlam Saturday, CM Punk will be challenging the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther, a match that was originally planned for WrestleMania 41 this past year, however, it was scrapped after the plans that were made switched everything up and led Jey Uso to dethrone Gunther, while Punk dealt with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins in the main event of night one.
However, Punk will now get the opportunity to dethrone the Ring General and wants to dedicate his weekend and match to the late-great Roddy Piper, who Punk looked up to since he was a child.
Punk’s last appearance at SummerSlam was against Drew McIntyre following his return to the ring after a triceps injury left him out of action following his return to the WWE for the first time in a decade.
Now, he will get the chance to walk away with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against his toughest matchup yet, the Ring General, Gunther.
