Some very sad news has emerged as Hulk Hogan has passed away at the age of 71 in his home in Florida due to a cardiac arrest.
TMZ broke the story on Thursday morning stating that medics were dispatched to Hogan’s home and operators stated that it was due to a cardiac arrest.
“We’re told a slew of police cars and EMTs were parked outside Hogan’s home … and the icon was carried on a stretcher and into an ambulance.”
In May, Hogan underwent a neck procedure and many rumors began circulating about how Hogan reacted physically to the surgery. Those rumors included Hogan being in a possible coma but people close to Hogan said he was recovering at home with his wife saying his heart was strong as he was recovering from the surgery.
Hogan will probably go down as one of if not the most famous professional wrestler of all time. Hulk Hogan’s rise to the top of WWF shifted pro wrestling at the time as a niche fandom to becoming a juggernaut in pop culture. Hogan was the most popular babyface in the history of wrestling and was apart of the greatest heel turn in wrestling when Hogan joined the N.W.O in WCW in the 90s. Hogan also appeared in movies like No Holds Barred and Rocky III.
Hogan has also been in the headlines the last 30 years with many controversies including using racial slurs while being recorded in a sexual encounter in 2015. Hogan was a co-creator of a new amateur wrestling company called Real American Freestyle which will officially launch on Fox Nation on August 30th.
