Athena: When I Do Hit 1000 Days As The ROH Women’s World Champion, I’ll Start Calling Myself The Modern Day Bruno Sammartino

Athena has big plans when she hits the big 1000.

Athena has been the dominant force that has prevented anyone from taking her Ring Of Honor Women’s World Championship from her grasp. To the point where she could exceed over a thousand days as queen of the division and company.

During an appearance on Sports Illustrated’s The Takedown, Athena teased that when she does hit the big monument, she wants to start labeling herself after a wrestling legend who also had his days as the king of his own mountain.

“I never thought it would happen to be honest with you. I think right now I just take it a day at a time, because like…honestly like once I hit a thousand days, mama’s going to call herself the modern day Bruno Sammartino.”

Athena’s next title defense will be at ROH’s Supercard Of Honor when she defends the ROH Women’s World Championship against Thunder Rosa. Someone who Athena has never been able to defeat in one on one action.
