TNA President Carlos Silva Talks Media Rights, TNA Plus Subs, More

TNA President Carlos Silva is making the media rounds to hype the companies upcoming PPV, Slammiversary, taking place from the UBS Arena in Queens, NY on July 20th.

Today, Silva was a guest on the Ariel Helwani show, where the two discussed a variety of topics. Among them was distribution of TNA and that that looks like.

“Along with our partners at AXS, Len [Asper], Andy Schuon, who runs AXS TV, we want to find a bigger platform. We have CAA helping us. We’re actively in the middle…if I can get a few things done, I’d love to tell you about the deals. We’re close. We’ve been working on it since the beginning of the year, really since I joined. It really has accelerated over the last 60 days. We’re working through it,” he said.

Asked how close an announcement could be, Silva replied, “I think we could be in a 60 to 90 day window to get something done. As you know, the media landscape is changing every single day and literally, week-to-week, things are changing. We just saw some other networks that are going to get sold again this week that are changing hands. You never know. It’s never done until the Is are dotted and Ts are crossed. We’re working hard at it.”

Silva noted that the deal would come into play at the end of 2025.

Asked if TNA would be going live each week, Silva said, “We’ve been asked by many partners that they’d like it to be live 52 weeks a year so we’re talking through how we would do that. Maybe it wouldn’t go live in January, straight away, 52 weeks, but we would certainly lean into that to try and make it happen.”

Finally, Silva was asked if the show would remain on Thursdays.

“Could be up for grabs. You’d have to look at the crowded (landscape). Thursday has worked out well so far,” he said.

Silva mentioned that the TNA + app has over 21,000 subscribers.

He also provided an update on another Anthem brand. For the all-women’s MMA promotion Invicta FC, he stated the goal is to get back to a consistent schedule of 10-12 events per year to build momentum on their CBS Sports platform.

Yesterday, an interview surfaced with Carlos Silva and John Wallstreet where some of the same topics were discussed.

This also reportedly comes on the heels of Sports Illustrated’s Jon Alba revealing that TNA is shopping around for new and better distribution.

Many TNA talents and figure heads have been talking about finding bigger distribution for the product, most recently Frankie Kazarian back in March when he said that “getting on a better network is the focus of management.”

Speaking of a better TV deal, TNA star Matt Hardy has repeatedly stated that Anthem/TNA is “actively working on that.”

Back in December of 2024, Anthem hired Carlos Silva to oversee Anthem Sports Group – which includes TNA Wrestling, Invicta FC, and Fight Network – who stated that his near-team focus is to find the best distribution available and sponsorships.

Back in January, Tommy Dreamer spoke about the ambitious goals of TNA in 2025, which mincludes “a larger television platform.”
