Matt Jackson reflects on the PWG days.
During their time in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Matt and Nick Jackson were still learning and adapting to the scene with all the great talent they were surrounded with. When asked if Bryan Danielson was the scariest opponent he has ever faced, Matthew gave a much different answer, but one that many Indie fans would know about.
“I think the scariest wrestler at the time was probably… because there were so many stories about him…you didn’t know what was real, what to expect, was Super Dragon,” Jackson replied. “He had such a reputation or, like, they would say he would stiff you, and, like, a lot of the wrestlers didn’t like him and stuff. He was intimidating. He was an intimidating figure. But then [he] ended up becoming one of my best friends in the business.” – Matt Jackson said on a recent edition of Never Not Jet Lagged
The ‘Founding Fathers’ are preparing to battle the team of Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay at All In, in Arlington, Texas, at Globe Life Field on July 12.
PWG has not held any events since their Mystery Vortex event in 2023, as Dragon announced he would be stepping away to care for his girlfriend, who was battling cancer.
