Team Musumeci is on a roll.
UFC BJJ: Road To The Title Episode 3
Today’s Lightweight (155lbs) bout pit Team Musumeci’s #4 seed Carlos Henrique against Team Gabriel’s #5 seed Gianni Grippo in a highly anticipated bout that sees an order generation versus a newer generation.
The teams did have some activities in this episode as they both went bowling and the coaches bet money on their teams. Mikey Musumeci’s team got the bowling win, but will they win on the mats?
Both No-Gi World Champions, Grippo vs. Henrique was off to a fast start. Both were targeting the legs and looking for their own foot locks, trading attempts back and forth in a close round until the round ended. In the corner, Mikey Musumeci told Henrique to not go for the leg so much because he’s leaving his own leg opened. Henrique took that advice.
In the second round, Grippo pulls guard right away, but Henrique flips over him into north south position and takes the neck and quickly locks in an Anaconda choke for the tap.

Team Musumeci continues their winning ways and takes a further lead with this win at 3-1. In tomorrow’s edition, we have a special two quarterfinal bout episode as Team Gabriel’s #4 seed Welterweight (170lbs) Elijah Carlton takes on Team Musumeci’s #5 seed Jason Nolf. Then, in the Lightweight division (155lbs), Team Gabriel’s #2 seed Josh Cisneros takes on Team Musumeci’s #7 seed Kyvann Gonzalez.
A “issue” was teased that could shake things up, so we will see what happens tomorrow!
On June 25, the main event of UFC BJJ 1 will feature UFC BJJ: Road to the Title coaches Mikey Musumeci and Rerisson Gabriel competing for the inaugural UFC BJJ bantamweight championship, while the welterweight and lightweight finalists meet each other for gold in their respective divisions.
